COVID-19 Precautions

HCYC take the well-being and safety of our members very seriously. The ongoing situation around coronavirus (COVID-19) is of concern to everyone and we all have a role to play in keeping healthy so we wanted to let you know that we are closely following and adopting government advice.

This means that we have decided to suspend all arranged events including regular racing, and activities at the club until further notice.

The duty roster is also suspended which means that without the patrol boat on the water we regret that you cannot use club boats. Otherwise the club facilities remain open for individuals to visit, e.g. to sail or work on your own boats. The clubhouse may be used but please:

  • do not use the kitchen equipment
  • keep your distance from others at the club: especially when in the changing room or clubhouse
  • wash hands frequently and thoroughly, and NOT in the kitchen sink

Anyone who is subject to isolation guidelines must stay away from the club. We encourage members to take a conservative view on symptoms: if you are at all unwell please do not come to the club.

We are monitoring both government and RYA advice and will let you know of any updates. For general information, please refer to the NHS website https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/
