Patrol Boat Refreshers

To help members update their skills at Patrol Boat handling, the following dates have been arranged. These sessions are designed for all members from beginners to experience powerboat helms. Topics covered include club procedures for launching and recovering the patrol boat, powerboat safety, boat handling, techniques for rescue, clothing, etc.

This is an excellent opportunity for new members to gain experience of handling a powered vessel, and for existing members to re-familiarise themselves with the various procedures.

It is recommended that members who have a patrol boat duty scheduled and are unfamiliar with the procedures and handling of a power boat attend a session before carrying out their duty.

The dates for 2007 are as follows:

  • Saturday 10th March 2007 10am
  • Sunday 11th March 2007 2pm
  • Saturday 19th May 2007 10am
  • Sunday 20th May 2007 2pm
  • Saturday 22nd Sept 2007 10am
  • Sunday 23rd Sept 2007 2pm
  • Saturday 13th Oct 2007 10pm
  • Sunday 14th Oct 2007 2pm"

The start time will as stated above and the sessions should last for about 2 to 3 hours.
