Dinghy and Power Boat Training 2012

TRAINING DEPARTMENT 2012 

We have selected 3 weekends to use for on water training this year. In the event of weather preventing sailing we will postpone until the following Training weekend. Days commence at 0930 and finish approximately 1700, a two day course is £80 which includes  RYA Books which we supply. All of our Instructors are RYA qualified and we are grateful to have Training Assistants who help out.

Level 1 Start Sailing

2 days, learn to launch, sail in all directions and recover your dinghy back to the boat park.

 Level 2 Basic Skills

2 days, further development of skills and techniques.

 Level 3 Better Sailing

This is a taster of the RYA’s  advanced modules. Will cover Day Sailing, spinnakers, Seamanship skills, Racing and Performance.

 Youth Stages 1-4

From learning to sail onward for under 16’s, follows a slightly different programme to the Adult Levels. 

Power Boat Level 1

This is a one day course introduction to basic motorboat handling, safety, engines, majority of time spent on the water. £70, 3 students 1 Instructor/ Boat.

 SHOREBASED COURSES

VHF Radio, 1st Aid, Diesel Engine courses are available during the winter months dependant on demand. These are all RYA accredited .

 RACE TRAINING

Due to it’s success and popularity we are bringing back Sunday afternoon “Introduction to racing”. This session is designed for anybody who would like to learn how to race in their own dinghy. The session is run by Paul Doyle and is offered on the following dates:

13/5, 10/6, 1/7, 5/8, 7/10 the cost is £5 per session including hot drinks and commences 2pm. Please let Paul know if you are interested    pd_hcyc@hotmail.com
