Welcome to HCYC

Hertford County Yacht Club is a friendly club offering something for every member of the family from the casual sailor to the serious racing enthusiast. We are particularly keen to help those who have never sailed, or are long lapsed sailors, to get back on the water - very much a 'grass roots' club.

We have members of all ages, who join in with both fleet and handicap racing, casual sailing and social events. We are an RYA accredited training centre and offer a range of excellent value courses to members.

The club is based in the Lee Valley Regional Park on a pleasant 25 acre lake at Stanstead Abbotts in Hertfordshire.

We offer the following memberships:

Family Member - full member with voting rights for two adults and their children under 26
Individual Member - full member with voting rights for one adult
Non-sailing Member (also known as 'social membership') - no voting rights and are not entitled to a dinghy park space
Junior - membership for a child under 18 to be added to an adult membership.

Dinghy park spaces are only available to full members.

All children under 18 must be associated with an adult membership and must be accompanied by a responsible adult at the club. This can be covered by the Junior membership with a parent who is a non-sailing member. Please contact us for more information.

Fees for 2024

Family Membership - £130 for annual payment (Full Membership including partner and children or grandchildren under 26 or in full time education)
Individual Membership - £105 for annual payment (Full Membership for adults aged 18 or over)
Non-sailing Membership - £30 per year
Junior - £30 per year (must be associated with an adult membership)

Joining fees are waived for 2024

Dinghy Park space £35 per year,
Trailer Park space £25 per year

Our membership year runs from 1 April to 31 March. If you join part-way through the year, the first year's fees will be on a pro-rata basis.
